Marlaine has had a diverse career, spanning numerous industries and various roles both internationally and in Africa.

On completion of her studies at Stellenbosch University, Marlaine started out her career with Volkswagen/Audi of South Africa in Johannesburg where she held various marketing positions. She subsequently joined Kynoch Ltd as export manager before accepting a transfer to the United Kingdom, where she spent four years in the AECI International office. On returning to South Africa, she joined Dimension Data, from where she moved to Hewlett Packard and then to Arivia.kom.

Marlaine left her position as a senior management
consultant to join Halls as Corporate Services Director
in 2006.
