Mark spent his childhood on Halls and was destined to return as a young man. After completing his military service, he entered into a career in banking with a focus on foreign exchange.

In August 1988 he returned to Halls and traded his city suits for farming khaki. Mark held a number of managerial positions in the Farms Division.

In 2003 he accepted the responsibility of managing the
marketing and procurement department. Mark was
appointed as Director and General Manager - Exports in
November 2006.
