Peter Prentice Non-Executive Chairman: H L Hall and Sons Holdings Ltd Peter qualified as a chartered accountant at Ernst and Young in 1976. In 1978 he took up the position of Financial Manager at WJ Spracklen (Pty) Ltd, and was promoted a year later to General Manager. In 1981 he became an audit partner at Cameron & Prentice which practice merged with BDO South Africa Inc, where he is today. Peter joined the Halls Board in June 1989 and became Non-Executive Chairman in August 2006. He subsequently qualified as a Chartered Accountant at Deloitte & Touche and became a partner in their Enterprise Risk Services Division specialising in the IT systems of financial institutions. He was head hunted as Chief Operating Officer and Financial Director of an established software house, before joining Maple Associates in 2000 as a strategy and governance consultant. He holds a PhD in Ecotourism Management from Pretoria University. Prior to joining SANParks he lectured at Colleges and Universities locally and abroad and published extensively in environmental education and educational psychology. In 2004 he joined the Department of Land Affairs as a Director and played a leading role in the land reform and restitution process in Mpumalanga. Dr. Mabunda was born on Mattafin, part of the Halls' farmland until a historic land reform deal in 2003. David joined the Board of Halls in August 2006. Dr. David Mabunda Non-Executive Director H L Hall & Sons Holdings Ltd	Ntokozo Majola Non-Executive Director: Halls Properties Pty Ltd Ms Majola, who has a Masters in Development Economics from Williams College in Massachusetts, is the Provincial Manager for the Small Enterprise Development Agency(seda) in Mpumulanga and a former Chief Director in the province's Department of Economic Development and Planning. She has extensive experience in Strategy Development and Management, Operations Management, SMME Development and Foreign Trade Facilitation. After lecturing in Durban, she relocated to Mpumalanga to take up a lecturing post at Elijah Mango College of Education. In the Lowveld Ethel made the transition into the business world and established herself in fashion design and interior decoration. Her natural love of people led to her entering the tourism industry with the establishment of a lodge and conference facility just outside Nelspruit. With education remaining a calling, Ethel also established a training academy in the region, offering SETA accredited skills development programmes. Appointed as General Manager in 2007. In 2009 joined TWK Agriculture as Timber Business Development Executive; In May 2010 invested in own business and currently is the executive director of the Halorite Group of companies. The Halorite group is focused on providing environmentally friendly solutions to water and energy related utilities. Jonathan joined the Halls Board in August 2001. Pete later headed up Nedbank's Corporate Banking Division before his appointment as the Managing Director of Retail and Wealth Management, responsible for the Nedbank, Old Mutual Bank, Pick 'n Pay Go Banking, the Wealth Management businesses and the insurance/assurance-related businesses. Pete joined Halls in 2004 as Executive Chairman, but stepped down from this role in 2006 to focus on developing the company's recent investments in the financial services and pharmaceutical industries. After nearly four years with the bank and having completed his BComm (Hons) at the University of the Witwatersrand, he enrolled to study an MSc in agricultural economics in the United States. On completion of his Masters degree, James returned to South Africa and joined the Kwa-Zulu Finance and Investment Corporation as an economist/project leader before joining Halls in 1994 as Marketing Manager. At the beginning of 1997 James took over the position of property manager, followed by his directorship and appointment as managing director of Halls Properties in 2008. Mark was appointed as Director and General Manager - Exports in November 2006. He completed his MBA part-time through the University of Pretoria in 2002. The following year Richard joined McKinsey & Co as an associate and was exposed to the broader business environment while based in South Africa, Nigeria, India, Singapore and Australia. Richard joined Halls Investments in September 2008, as is currently responsible for the Pharmaceutical portfolio, as well as supporting due diligence of new investment opportunities.
