WE'VE been practising good citizenship at Halls for 120 years. It's part of our DNA. Always has been, always will be.
Halls has a proud heritage of involvement in the Lowveld community over many years. Our farm clinic has treated more than a million patients during the past 80 years, and at one point there were seven schools educating over 1500 children on Halls' farms - including the first, and for many years, the only black high school on private land in South Africa.
We subscribe to the principle of doing good while doing well, meaning that we wish to contribute to society and local community in a manner that simultaneously builds and enhances our corporate brand.
Education has been singled out as the arena in which we can make the most
meaningful contribution to the wellbeing of individuals and the nation, and the
bulk of our annual CSI spend is dedicated to improving and promoting
education at the historical schools located in the Mataffin community.
When it comes to corporate social investment, for us the journey is the
destination. It's not always a comfortable or easy ride. But every life
touched and transformed makes it a worthwhile journey for Halls.
